Positions available:
1. Foster homes- (4) Types! We receive
most of our cats from DuPage Animal Control and
other open admission shelters or by referral. Until
PURRS procures a shelter, all cats must go to
a foster home or PETCO/PetSmart to wait to be
adopted. We adopt out 5-10 cats a week. Upon being
medically and behaviorally cleared, cats wait an
average of 6-8 weeks before being adopted. Fostering

victim, abuse victim or just a simple upper
respiratory infection!) |
Advanced
socialization skills, ability to give medicines
(pill and liquid), basic to advanced veterinary
knowledge, kid interaction encouraged |
Specifically with
cats with colds, cats will be taken to this
house immediately on intake, stay for 3 weeks
then go up for adoption. A lot of possible
turnover. Special needs cats stay will be
determined based on situation |

2. Daily Cat Care- Niles PetSmart and
Naperville PETCO
Our cats housed at PETCOs and PetSmarts must be
checked in on once a day. This involves checking for
food, fresh water, signs of illness and most
importantly PLAYING with the cats and giving them
exercise. Low stress.. fun role. .. great way to
learn about cats... Good for all ages. Must be 18 or
accompanied by a guardians at all times (store
rules). Some interaction with the public possible.
