soft hearts hands on kitty kare!

Our kitties  need you people!

Positions available:

1. Foster homes- (4) Types! We receive most of our cats from DuPage Animal Control and other open admission shelters or by referral. Until PURRS  procures a shelter, all cats must go to a foster home or PETCO/PetSmart to wait to be adopted. We adopt out 5-10 cats a week. Upon being medically and behaviorally cleared, cats wait an average of 6-8 weeks before being adopted.  Fostering Application

We have 4 types of foster needs:

Foster Type Type of Cat Special Skills Needed Notes
Kittens Kittens (up to 6) between the ages of 12 weeks and 6 months General cat knowledge, active, busy, social  household, cat socialization skills, desire to learn adoption procedures, kid interaction encouraged A lot of turnover of kittens

Generally kittens are adopted out of the foster home, although they can be brought to an event to be adopted.

Special Needs Cats (up to 4) with illness requiring special short or long term care (loss of leg, eye, surgery recovery, burn victim, abuse victim or just a simple upper respiratory infection!) Advanced socialization skills, ability to give medicines (pill and liquid), basic to advanced veterinary knowledge, kid interaction encouraged Specifically with cats with colds, cats will be taken to this house immediately on intake, stay for 3 weeks then go up for adoption. A lot of possible turnover.
